The short version

Nicki Minaj's law firm, Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever, filed papers on Nov. 4, 2026 pushing its request to stop representing her in a lawsuit by 24/7 Productions. The company is seeking $275,149.62 in Jingle Ball and Pink Friday 2 promo costs from her December 2023 New York run. A judge has paused the case until a Dec. 1, 2026 hearing in Manhattan.

Key facts

  • Who is suing: 24/7 Productions (USA) Inc. says it advanced more than $255,000 in production expenses around Minaj's December 2023 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball dates and her Pink Friday 2 promo run in New York. It is seeking $275,149.62 plus interest and court costs, according to DancehallMag. TMZ puts the unreimbursed expenses at more than $200,000.
  • The claims: a breach of contract claim against Pink Friday Productions and an unjust enrichment claim against Minaj personally, per DancehallMag.
  • The first exit request: Attorney Bruce W. Bieber of the firm asked to withdraw on Oct. 23, citing disagreements over litigation strategy and a breakdown in communication, according to DancehallMag and Vice.
  • The case is on pause: Judge Leslie A. Stroth signed an order on Oct. 27, filed Oct. 28, stating that "all proceedings in this matter are stayed" until the withdrawal hearing, per DancehallMag, which cited the order as obtained by AllHipHop.

Nicki Minaj's own lawyers want off one of her lawsuits. The New York firm Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever, which defends Minaj and her company Pink Friday Productions in a suit over roughly $275,000 in concert and promo costs, filed new papers on Nov. 4, 2026, backing its request to withdraw, Vice reported, citing Billboard. TMZ reported the filing on Nov. 5. The firm says communication with the rapper has broken down, and the case is frozen until a Dec. 1 hearing in Manhattan.

This is the confirmed record from court filings as reported. No ruling has been made.

  • Key dates: Answering papers are due Nov. 12 and replies Nov. 23. The hearing is set for Dec. 1, 2026, at 10 a.m. at 60 Centre Street in Manhattan.
  • If the firm is let go: the order keeps the stay in place for 30 days after service so Minaj and her company can hire new lawyers.
  • The Nov. 4 filing: Bieber described a process server's attempts to deliver papers at Minaj's residence. On Nov. 2, the server was told Minaj was not available, Vice reported.
  • The penthouse detail: Per TMZ, the server went to the building where Minaj lives in a $10 million penthouse. The concierge said she was not home but her husband was, and that the couple had a "tendency of not answering their phones."
  • Minaj's defense: In a July 31 filing, her side said the costs had been approved and that Pink Friday Productions had already paid them. Her lawyers also argued that owning the company does not make Minaj personally liable for its debts, per DancehallMag. The same firm called the suit "an ill-advised attempt to sue a famous deep-pocket," Vice reported.
  • No public response: Minaj had not publicly addressed the filing as of Vice's report.

Context

The Dec. 1 hearing is about who represents Minaj, not about whether she owes the money. A judge has not ruled on the withdrawal request or on the underlying claims. DancehallMag notes the 30-day buffer means the case could sit idle past the December date.

It is also the second time this year a lawyer has asked out of a Minaj case over communication. In February 2026, attorney Matthew Abbott filed to withdraw from representing her in a suit brought by a fan named Tameer Peak, saying the management company he works for had not heard from her in months, TMZ reported via AOL. That is a separate case.

For fans, the money traces back to the Pink Friday 2 rollout in New York in December 2023, the album that served as the sequel to her 2010 debut.

What's unconfirmed

  • The hotel bill: AllHipHop reported that 24/7 submitted a Langham New York bill totaling $103,730, including a $9,500-a-night suite for seven nights, per DancehallMag. Burner Page has not seen that document.
  • When the suit was filed: DancehallMag says 24/7 sued in March; Vice says the case was filed in 2025. We could not confirm the year.
  • Billboard's report: Vice cites Billboard on the Nov. 4 filing. Billboard's story is paywalled and we could not open it.

Should Nicki settle the $275K or fight it out in court?
