The short version

Post Malone teased "Bad Mood" on Oct. 28, 2026 as a preview of The Eternal Buzz, a planned 40-track, two-disc album that Billboard Philippines reports is due in 2027. In Burner Page's opinion, the hip-hop-era project it should run back is Beerbongs & Bentleys, a No. 1 debut, with Hollywood's Bleeding (489,000 first-week units) at No. 2.

Key facts

  • Post Malone posted the "Bad Mood" clip on Oct. 28, 2026 with the hashtag #badmood, per Whiskey Riff, which embeds the post.
  • It is the second Eternal Buzz song previewed so far. The first, "Chrome Heartbreaker," debuted before the World Cup final in New Jersey in July, per Whiskey Riff.
  • The album is planned as 40 tracks over two discs, and other songs named so far include "Death of the Bow," "Memorize," "Rescue Me," "Tombstone," "ACL" and "Change," per Billboard Philippines.
  • It would be his first full-length album since 2024's F-1 Trillion. In August 2026 he put out his third mixtape, August 26th, built from material recorded between 2014 and 2016, per Billboard Philippines.

This is a Burner Page opinion ranking. Post Malone previewed a new song tagged "Bad Mood" in an X post on Oct. 28, 2026, captioned "eternal buzz coming soon," as embedded by Whiskey Riff. Billboard Philippines reports the track is expected on The Eternal Buzz, his seventh studio album, planned as 40 tracks across two discs and slated for 2027.

Billboard Philippines frames the snippet as a return to his hip-hop and trap roots. So we ranked the five Posty projects that built that lane. Every fact below is sourced. Only the order is ours.

What we know

The ranking

1. Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018)

This one debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, as Billboard noted when it pointed out his two albums before Twelve Carat Toothache both opened on top. Writing about Twelve Carat Toothache's "Cooped Up," Billboard's Rania Aniftos compared it to the "darker Beerbongs & Bentleys-era hits that everyone loved." That darker, trap-leaning version of Post is the one we want back. If "Bad Mood" lives here, we're in.

2. Hollywood's Bleeding (2019)

The bigger commercial run. It moved 489,000 units in its first week, which Billboard reported was the year's biggest streaming week at the time, and it finished No. 1 on the 2020 year-end Billboard 200. It came in with "Wow.," "Goodbyes" and "Circles" already out. It's the most complete hit machine he has. It lands at No. 2 only because Beerbongs hits harder front to back for a rap fan.

3. Stoney (2016)

The 2016 debut, and the hungriest Post on record. It is also the last album of his that missed No. 1 before Twelve Carat Toothache did, per Billboard. Chart peak aside, this is where the formula started: a rapper's beat with a singer's hook.

4. Twelve Carat Toothache (2022)

His first album of the 2020s debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 dated June 18, 2022, with 121,000 units, behind Bad Bunny's Un Verano Sin Ti, per Billboard. It ended a wait of nearly three years and includes "I Like You (A Happier Song)" with Doja Cat. It's moody and inward, with fewer instant hits than the two albums above it, a point Billboard's staff raised too.

5. August 26th (2026)

His third mixtape, released in August 2026, collects songs recorded between 2014 and 2016, per Billboard Philippines. It's a time capsule for diehards more than a statement record, which is why it sits last. Still, it shows the rap DNA was there before the No. 1s.

Context

Post Malone went fully country on F-1 Trillion in 2024, and its "Long Bed" version ran 27 country tracks, per Whiskey Riff. That left his rap fans wondering if the old Posty was coming back. Both Eternal Buzz previews so far point away from Nashville, Whiskey Riff writes.

The live side has stalled in Asia, though. His Sept. 29, 2026 show at the Philippine Arena on The BIG Stadium World Tour, with Don Toliver as special guest, was postponed indefinitely along with his other Asia dates, per Billboard Philippines.

What's unconfirmed

  • Release date. Billboard Philippines reports 2027. Post's own caption only says "coming soon."
  • The song title. Whiskey Riff calls the song "presumably titled" "Bad Mood," based on the hashtag. No official single announcement has been made.
  • A rap disc and a country disc. The idea of 20 hip-hop and 20 country songs is a Whiskey Riff writer's theory. That outlet also reports that unreleased songs credited to Post and country writers have turned up in ASCAP's database. Nothing official confirms the split.

Your call: should Eternal Buzz run back Beerbongs or Hollywood's Bleeding?
