Anderson .Paak and Cordae's 'Heavy Is the Crown' Hits No. 78 on UK Chart Update (Oct. 28)

Anderson .Paak and Cordae's joint album Heavy Is the Crown has its first chart receipt: No. 78 on the Official Albums Chart Update dated Oct. 28, 2026, the midweek UK snapshot from Official Charts. The 11-track album came out Oct. 23, 2026, according to its Apple Music listing. As of Oct. 30, 2026, Billboard has not published the album's U.S. debut, so the American numbers are still to come.

What we know

• Position: No. 78 on the Official Albums Chart Update for Oct. 28, 2026. The Official Charts page lists one week in the Top 100 and no weeks in the Top 75 so far.
• Release: Out Oct. 23, 2026, with 11 songs running 31 minutes, credited to APESHIT + EMPIRE / Hi Level + Mass Appeal, per Apple Music.
• Producers: J. Cole produced "Karma Tax," Swizz Beatz worked on "Godfather II," Conductor Williams made "Crown" and 9th Wonder handled "You're Mine," Rolling Stone Australia reported. FNZ produced "Helpless" and "I'm On," with Hollywood Cole also on "I'm On."
• Swizz on the closer: Apple Music's album notes say Swizz Beatz adds ad-libs on "Godfather II," the final track.
• Lead single: "A Good Day" came with a comedic trailer and a video starring Jennifer Freeman. Rolling Stone Australia reported the clip passed 4 million YouTube views and the song cracked the top 25 at rhythmic radio.
• The cover: The artwork is a nod to Step Brothers, per HotNewHipHop and Rolling Stone Australia. An alternate-cover vinyl with art by Lauren Halsey is sold through the album's official site.

Context

This pairing has been building since 2019. HotNewHipHop traces the duo's chemistry to "RNP" from Cordae's 2019 debut The Lost Boy and notes fans had been asking for a full project ever since. The album was first announced in August 2026.

.Paak brings a heavy résumé. Rolling Stone Australia counts him as a nine-time Grammy winner, including four Grammys for "Leave the Door Open," his hit with Bruno Mars. His NxWorries project with Knxwledge also won Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2025 Grammys for Why Lawd?.

The album is not all jokes. Apple Music's notes point to "Karma Tax" and "Helpless," where Cordae talks about his mother siding with his ex and .Paak admits to showing up drunk to his child's birthday party. Its editors sum up the album's attitude in one line: "Being on top isn't so bad."

Why a No. 78 midweek matters: it shows the album found UK buyers and streamers in its first days, outside the duo's home market. A midweek update is an early read, not the final weekly chart, and the U.S. picture will come from Billboard's own report on its first tracking week.

What's unconfirmed

• The U.S. debut. Billboard has not posted where Heavy Is the Crown lands on the Billboard 200 or its rap charts, or how many first-week units it earned. First-week projections have circulated online this week, but Burner Page could not open the original posts, so we are not printing a number until Billboard reports it.
• The final UK position. The No. 78 figure comes from the Oct. 28 midweek update. The final Official Albums Chart for the week can differ.

We will update this story with Billboard's numbers once they post.
